PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Roof Coating is a high-quality, water-based acrylic emulsion paint specifically formulated for the protection and decoration of various types of roof surfaces. It provides a highly durable, weather-resistant finish that can withstand the harsh tropical climate, including heavy rain and intense UV exposure. This coating is designed with excellent color fastness and anti-fungus properties, ensuring that roof tiles remain clean and vibrant over time. It is an ideal solution for refreshing and extending the lifespan of old, weathered roof tiles, as well as protecting new ones.

TECHNICAL DATA

• Paint Type: Water-based (Acrylic Emulsion)

• Finishing: High Gloss

• Binder: Acrylic Emulsion

• Color: Wide range of roof colors (e.g., Brick Red, Slate Grey, Dark Green)

• Thinning: Brush/Roller: Maximum 5% clean water. Conventional Spray: 10% – 15% clean water.

• Touch Dry: 30 minutes (depending on temperature and humidity)

• Hard Dry: 1 hour

• Recoating Interval: Minimum 2 hours

• Theoretical Coverage: 10 – 12 m² per litre per coat

• Shelf Life: Up to 36 months in a tightly sealed container

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

• Mixing: Stir the paint thoroughly with a clean paddle before use to ensure uniform color and consistency.

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush, Roller, or Conventional/Airless Spray.

• Dilution: Ready for use. If thinning is required for workability, use only clean water as specified. Do not over-thin, as it will reduce the film build and durability.

• Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.

• Note: Avoid application during the hottest part of the day (when the roof surface is extremely hot) or if rain is expected within 2-3 hours.

RECOMMENDED COATING SYSTEM

For Cement / Clay Roof Tiles:

• Sealer/Primer (1 Coat): 5100 Wall Sealer / 8100 Weatherbond Sealer / Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer (for slightly chalky surfaces).

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Nippon Roof Coating.

For Unpainted Surfaces:

• Ensure the surface is primed first to enhance adhesion and color uniformity.

SURFACE PREPARATION

• General Cleaning: Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and loose matter.

• Debris Removal: Remove all loose or defective paint, powdery residues, and dust by scraping or high-pressure water jetting (highly recommended for roofs).

• Biological Treatment: Treat areas affected by fungus or algae growth with Nippon Paint Fungicidal Wash and rinse thoroughly with water.

• Repair: Replace any cracked or broken roof tiles before painting. Ensure the surface is completely dry before application.

• Moisture Content: Ensure the substrate is dry. Trapped moisture can cause the paint to bubble or peel when exposed to the sun.
