PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint Nano Clean Clear Coat is a high-performance, water-based clear topcoat formulated with an innovative organic-inorganic hybrid system. It is specifically designed as a protective layer for light-coloured exterior wall finishes that are prone to severe dirt streak marks. The coating creates a hard, compact, and hydrophilic surface that prevents dirt penetration and promotes a "self-cleaning" effect when it rains. By reducing dirt pick-up and providing exceptional resistance to weathering and UV rays, it helps maintain the pristine appearance of buildings for longer periods. It is an environmentally friendly "Green Choice" product with low VOC and low odour.

• Thinning: Brush/Roller: 13mm polyester roller (Recommended) – 10% dilution for best workability. 13mm polyamide roller - No dilution recommended.

• Touch Dry: 20 – 30 minutes (depending on temperature and humidity)

• Hard Dry: 1 hour

• Recoating Interval: Minimum 2 hours

• Theoretical Coverage: 20 m² per litre per coat (Dry film thickness around 5μm)

• No. of Coats: 2 coats (Recommended "wet-on-wet" application)

• Shelf Life: Up to 36 months in a tightly sealed container

Application Instructions

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush or Roller (13mm polyester roller is recommended for the best finish).

• Dilution: Ready for use. If necessary for workability, thin with a maximum of 10% clean water.

• Application Technique: For best results, apply 2 coats using a "wet-on-wet" technique to ensure a uniform and robust protective film.

• Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with clean water immediately after use.

• Note: Avoid painting in wet weather or when relative humidity exceeds 85%. Ensure the surface is completely dry before the clear coat is applied over the topcoat.

Recommended Coating System

• Sealer/Primer (1 Coat): 5100 Wall Sealer / 8000 Expresskote Sealer / Acrylic 5170 Wall Sealer.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): Nippon Weatherbond Series (specifically for light-coloured finishes).

• Clear Coat (2 Coats): Nano Clean Clear Coat (Applied wet-on-wet).

Surface Preparation

• General Cleaning: Ensure the existing topcoat is thoroughly clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and foreign matter.

• Debris Removal: Remove all loose, defective paint or powdery residues, dust, and algae.

• Biological Treatment: Treat any areas affected by fungus or algae with Nippon Paint Fungicidal Wash and rinse thoroughly before painting.

• Repair: Fill cracks or uneven surfaces with suitable exterior-grade fillers and sand smooth.

• Conditions: Do not apply if the moisture content of the wall is above 16% or alkalinity is above pH 9. Spot prime any repaired areas with the appropriate sealer and topcoat before applying the clear coat.
