PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Nippon Paint Slate Finish Gloss is a high-performance, solvent-based acrylic clear coating specifically developed to protect and enhance the natural beauty of slates, porous tiles, natural stone, and imprint concrete. This premium finish provides a deep, glossy "wet look" that intensifies the color and texture of the substrate while creating a tough, protective barrier. Engineered for both interior and exterior applications, it offers excellent resistance against UV rays, scratches, and stains. Its specialized formula also prevents the formation of efflorescence and inhibits the growth of fungus and algae, making it an ideal choice for beautifying and shielding driveways, walkways, and decorative stone features.

-
Application Method: Apply using a Brush, Roller, or Compressed Air Spray.
-
Mixing: Stir the contents thoroughly before application to ensure a consistent and uniform glossy finish.
-
Dilution: The product is ready to use for brush and roller. Avoid over-thinning as it reduces the protective film thickness and durability.
-
Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with Nippon OP-1 Thinner or a suitable aromatic solvent immediately after use.
- Note: Ensure the application area is well-ventilated. Avoid application if rain is expected within 4 hours.
Recommended Coating System
-
Primer: Not required; the first coat acts as the sealer/primer for the substrate.
-
Finishing (2-3 Coats): Nippon Paint Slate Finish Gloss.
-
Note: For highly porous surfaces, a third coat may be necessary to achieve a uniform glossy appearance and maximum protection.
Surface Preparation
-
General Cleaning: Surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free from dirt, oil, grease, wax, and loose matter.
-
Efflorescence/Dust: Remove all white powdery residues (efflorescence) and dust by wire brushing or high-pressure water jetting.
-
Dryness: Substrates must be completely dry. Any moisture trapped under the film can cause "blooming," where the coating turns cloudy or white.
-
Fungus/Algae: Treat areas affected by biological growth with Nippon Paint Fungicidal Wash and ensure the surface is rinsed and dried before coating.
-
New Surfaces: Ensure new concrete or masonry has cured for at least 28 days prior to application.
