PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Nippon Paint 9000 Speed Undercoat is a high-quality, fast-drying oil-modified alkyd-based undercoat. It is specifically formulated to provide a smooth and solid foundation for a wide range of solvent-based topcoats on both wood and metal surfaces. Known for its exceptional hiding power and high build, it effectively masks substrate imperfections and prevents the "grinning through" of previous colors. This undercoat is designed to improve the adhesion of the finishing coat while ensuring a more uniform and brilliant gloss or matte appearance. Its quick-drying property significantly reduces the waiting time between coats, making it a preferred choice for professional painters and DIY enthusiasts seeking efficiency and a professional finish.

Application Instructions

• Application Method: Apply using a high-quality Brush, Roller, or Conventional Air Spray.

• Dilution: Stir the paint thoroughly before use. For brush and roller, thin with maximum 5% Nippon General Purpose Thinner if necessary. For spray application, thin with 10% - 15% thinner.

• Cleaning: Clean all tools and equipment with Nippon General Purpose Thinner or Turpentine immediately after use.

• Note: Ensure the room is well-ventilated during application. Keep the product away from heat, sparks, and open flames as it is flammable.

Recommended Coating System

For Metal Surfaces:

• Primer (1 Coat): Red Oxide Primer / Zinc Phosphate Primer.

• Undercoat (1 Coat): 9000 Speed Undercoat.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): 9000 Gloss Finish / Q-Lac Gloss Finish.

For Wood Surfaces:

• Primer (1 Coat): 9000 Aluminium Wood Primer (for resinous wood).

• Undercoat (1 Coat): 9000 Speed Undercoat.

• Topcoat (2 Coats): 9000 Gloss Finish / Q-Lac Gloss Finish.

Surface Preparation

• General Cleaning: Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from dirt, grease, oil, and wax.

• Wood Surfaces: Sand the wood along the grain to remove loose fibers and splinters. Wipe off all dust with a clean, dry cloth before application.

• Metal Surfaces: Remove all rust, mill scale, and loose matter by wire brushing or sanding to a clean finish. Degrease the surface using a suitable solvent.

• Previously Painted Surfaces: Remove all loose or defective paint film. For surfaces in good condition, lightly sand with suitable sandpaper to provide a mechanical key for better adhesion and wipe clean.
