Heat Treatment ISPM15
We are guided by a set of stringent quality control policy. Our Pallet products are manufactured & tested of a quality insurance, ISO9001: 2008 accreditation. We also conversant with ISPM15 regulations governing the export of packaging products.
- To minimize the spread of pests, ISPM15 specifies requirements for treatment and marking of wood packaging
- Heat Treatment now been adopted by close to 200 countries
Mixed Tropical Hardwood Pallet
Mixed wooden pallets are still the most commonly used pallet in most industries as it is more cost-effective while providing the strength and durability that are expected.
Wooden pallets are not expensive and have proven to withstand rough handling in many logistics and transportation modes. The advantage of wooden pallets is that they can be used multiple times over the course of their lifetime. However, wooden pallets also need proper maintenance and repair in order to achieve full cost-saving potential. Worn-out or broken pallets can be repaired for reuse. As such, the end-of-life pallets can be recycled. In this way, the industries can help the nation’s aspiration in achieving the 3R concept of Reduce, Reuse & Recycle where we can help to reduce carbon footprints. Besides providing solutions to the material handling sector, wooden pallets can also be used in many other innovative DIY projects as well as for furniture making.

Internationally Accepted Types of Pallet Treatment
Heat Treatment (HT) – The wood needs to be heated until its core reaches 56°C for at least 30 minutes.
- Steady Heat Treatment (HT) – Standard procedure conducted in heating chambers.
- Kiln-Dried (KD) – Similar to the standard (HT), but it also requires moisture’s standard.
MB(Methyl Bromide)/Fumigation – Requires to completely fill an area with gaseous pesticide (methyl bromide). This method was only allowed until December 2015.
- Container Fumigation – The container where the wooden packaging is placed is completely filled with Methyl Bromide. After 24-hour quarantine, the container is aerated and the wood/cargo is released.
- Tent Fumigation – The wooden packaging is covered with a specific type of tent, sealed to the ground with weight. The tent is completely filled with methyl bromide. After 24-hour quarantine, the tent is removed and the wood/cargo is released.
Types of Pallets
Stringer Pallets
Pallets utilize rectangular stringers (or runners) – wood components that run the full length of the pallet. The top deck is fastened to the top edge of the stringers. For double-face pallets, the bottom deck is fastened to the bottom edge of the stringers..
Block Pallets
Pallets utilize rectangular blocks (or cylindrical posts), which separate the top deck from bottom deck(if Double-Face). Block pallets with lumber decks have top stringer boards, which run the full length of the pallet and are fastened to the blocks.
Advantage & Disadvantage of Using Wooden Pallets
Wooden Pallets Advantages
- Wooden pallets are cheap compared to plastic and metal pallets.
- Wooden pallets are recyclable and made from renewable resources.
- Wooden pallets have high friction compared to plastic and metal pallets.
- Wooden pallets are very strong and stiff in relation to their cost.
- Wooden pallets can easily be repaired if damaged.
Wooden Pallets Disadvantages
- Wooden pallets can contain invasive species of insects and plant diseases and have to be treated in order to be shipped internationally.
- Wooden pallets can get moldy if they are exposed to moisture.
- Wooden pallets can be hard to keep clean.
- Wooden pallets can contain splinters.
