How Termite Baiting System Work ?
For their own survival, termite workers will forage outside of their colony in search of food. With our Smart Termite Eliminate Plan (STEP), termite baiting will be installed in your premises by our technicians after their termite inspection confirms you have active termites.
The termite workers will then feed on the bait, and share it with other termites. This spreads the active ingredient throughout the colony, which prevents the termites from growing and kills them. The colony will then decline in number, which leads to the elimination of your infestation.
The objective of termite baiting is to place a food source that contains toxicant. Foraging termites that find the baits will consume and share the food containing the toxicant with its nest mates including the Queen and the King through a process called trophallaxis. Elimination process may require approximately 2 to 12 weeks depending on the size of the colony, typically between 6 to 8 weeks.
Above-ground & In-Ground Bait Station
Above Ground Bait Station are designed to promote easy excess by Termites, An above ground baiting system typically delivers bait with toxicant directly to the termite trails from exposed mud trail above ground, i.e. on walls, ceiling, and furniture etc.
In Ground Bait Station typically install in-ground bait stations surrounding a premise. It acts as a monitoring station. Once termites are intercepted, toxicant bait will be placed in the monitoring station to eliminate the colony.
Termite Bait usually comprise of luring compound/attractant, alpha cellulose, and toxicant. The bait may be moistened with water to emulate the food and environment termites prefer.
