Design Concept

The design concept for this Eco Botanic project is modern classic with warm lifestyle elements.

The interior uses a strong combination of white wall moulding, black cabinetry, warm wood textures, marble-look flooring, brass lighting details, and soft ambient lighting. This creates a home that feels elegant but still practical for everyday family living.

The living room features a clean classic TV wall with white panel detailing and low-profile cabinet storage. The kitchen and island area use darker cabinet tones to create contrast, while the sintered stone countertop adds a premium finish.

The staircase area was treated as a major design feature. Wood wall panelling, under-stair display storage, LED lighting, and glass doors helped transform the staircase from a simple circulation area into a functional focal point.

For the exterior, the landscaping and patio works improved the overall first impression of the home, making the garden and outdoor area more welcoming and usable.

The kitchen cabinet was designed with membrane press doors and panels, giving the kitchen a refined modern classic appearance. The raised door profile, classic handles, and white cabinet finishing create a clean and timeless look.

The kitchen was also planned with practical storage accessories, including tall pull-out pantry units, organiser storage, upper cabinets, drawer storage, appliance zones, and sufficient countertop space.

The under-stair area was converted into a custom feature cabinet with display shelving, LED lighting, glass doors, bottle display, wine storage, and concealed storage.

This solution is effective because it uses a normally underutilised space and turns it into a feature area. It also creates a stronger visual connection between the staircase, living area, and dining area.

Key Feature: Dining Room Extension

The dining area was extended to create a more comfortable and usable dining space. This allowed the family to enjoy better seating capacity, improved natural light, and a stronger connection between the indoor dining area and outdoor garden.

The extension required careful coordination between structure, flooring, doors, ceiling, lighting, air conditioning, and finishing works.

The exterior was upgraded with landscaping works, lawn treatment, planting, outdoor flooring, covered patio areas, and garden details. This improved both the appearance and usability of the outdoor space.

Key Feature: Aluminium Shoe Cabinet with Spray Painted Glass Door

For the car porch and entrance area, we designed an aluminium shoe cabinet with spray painted glass door. This material choice is practical for semi-outdoor use because aluminium performs better in moisture-prone areas compared with standard wood-based cabinetry.

The spray painted glass door gives the cabinet a cleaner and more premium appearance while keeping the entrance area organised.

Kitchen Story is based in Penang, while the project site is located in Iskandar Puteri, Johor. The challenge was to maintain clear communication, accurate site coordination, material planning, and renovation control despite the distance.

2. Managing a Full House Renovation Scope

This project involved many trades, including carpentry, plaster ceiling, painting, plumbing, air conditioning, aluminium works, landscaping, and building extension works. Without proper coordination, delays and quality inconsistency could occur.

Modern classic design requires proportion control, clean detailing, and consistent finishing. If overdone, the space can look heavy or outdated. If underdone, it may look too plain.
